I'm Luis, and I'm learning Thai. I built rian gèng for myself first, to practise speaking with the tones right. My partner, who is Thai, checks the words and the audio with me.

The course

rian gèng is an online course in spoken Thai, taught in English. Each card plays a Thai word or phrase, you type what you hear in Paiboon romanization, and the course tells you which tone you got wrong.

There are 30 levels of spoken Thai, with about 2,200 words and phrases, and 29 levels of the Thai alphabet beside them. You can try twenty-five words in the preview with no account.

The name

rian gèng is เรียนเก่ง in Thai script, and it means to learn well. You may also see it written rian geng, without the tone mark, or riangeng, as in the web address.

The company

Pristine Mekong Pte. Ltd., a company registered in Singapore, sells the plans and provides the course. Its UEN is 202609906N, and its office is at 160 Robinson Road, #14-04, Singapore 068914. Any payment is refunded in full when you ask within 30 days.
